Karjalanpaisti is a classic Finnish home cooking. Simply put meat and vegetables in the oven. This is a delicious stew that is easy to make.
Using Beef and Pork Together?
Karjalanpaisti is a classic home cooked dish. The ingredients, seasoning and cooking method are simple. If you go to the supermarket, you can always find meat for this Karjalanpaisti.
One of the things that surprised me when I first moved here was the meat used for Karjalanpaisti. Beef and pork cubes are packaged together. I thought it was very strange. But we can certainly find that ground beef and pork are mixed. If you think about it, it’s probably not so strange.
Traditional Oven Cooking

Of course, there are many other types of cooking, but what I find particularly interesting is the Finnish kitchen.
Japanese cooking involves a lot of fire, such as boiling and frying. Some of them are equipped with microwave ovens, but ovens are not always available in every home.
In Finland, on the other hand, the stove is an electric stove. And although induction heating has recently become popular, I have never seen a gas stove in a home. And this electric stove is integrated with the oven. When you buy a new stove, the oven comes with it. That’s how normal it is to use an oven.
