NOTES
You can make your own puff pastry dough, but it takes time and effort. We prefer to use readymade doughs. One thing we find important when choosing the dough is that it’s made from real ingredients like plain butter and flour. Of course, each one to their own preference, we prefer no palm oil for a pastry dough, or anything else for that matter. Let’s keep it nice, simple and delicious.
Christmas tart is a very traditional bakery product found in every Nordic country. Plum jam is normally used in these, but oven suitable apple jam with cinnamon is very delicious. An anko! I strongly recommend trying a Finnish Japanese Christmas tart with anko!
How to Cook Anko, Japanese Sweet Bean Paste
Anko, sweet beans paste, made by slow-boiling azuki beans, is indispensable for Japanese sweets. It goes well with both bread and pie.
